It’s Time to Grill!
July is national grilling month. After working hard getting your yard together, start grilling and enjoy the space. Use these long summer days and warm weather to enjoy some great company. Everyone wants a reason to sit outside with friends. If you fire up the grill, your friends will come!
Menu
You have a wide range of options to serve. It doesn’t get much easier than hot dogs and brats. Add some sides from the deli counter and you have a stress free gathering. If you are up for something more elaborate, grab some steaks for grilling. Create a wonderful salad on the side. Grilled pineapple adds a fun addition to any BBQ. Look online for specific recipes, or maybe find a whole menu already planned for you.
Theme
Maybe your get together will have a theme. The 4th of July is perfect time for a BBQ, and it has a built in theme. Gather all the red, white and blue you can find. This is not limited to just traditional decorations. Look at red, white and blue flowers or maybe have one of your menu items be a part of the decorations. Even if it’s not a holiday, you can create a theme. A game themed BBQ with bag toss, a giant wood tower, and yard dice can make for a fun night. If you have room, set up a Bocce ball court! Any idea that brings friends together will be great for all.
Music
Music can set the mood and also be a conversation starter. Put some playlists together so the music can play all night without you thinking about it. Everyone likes a little background music. You never know, by the end of the evening your backyard may turn into a dance party!
Keep them comfortable
Conditions can change throughout the day. Create a basket with the essentials to keep your guests comfortable for the whole party. If you are starting your party during the day, sunscreen is a must. Day or night, bug spray may be needed by all. A light blanket or two in case the evening becomes cool is also a good idea. Add anything you think may be helpful can be added, and then put the basket where all can see.
Summer is the perfect time to slow life down and make memories. A BBQ in the backyard is an easy way to do this. Your BBQ can be a simple last minute get together or you can plan a more elaborate party with a theme and fancy menu. Any backyard BBQ will be enjoyed by all.
